The Masked Singer reveals the horrors (and Hawk) of "Harry Potter Night"

Honestly, the official costumes aren't going to haunt us half as much as "Jenny McCarthy Dumbledore"

The Masked Singer embraced the enchantment and wonder of corporate cross promotion tonight (as well as the enchantment and wonder of “not talking about J.K. Rowling’s very loudly held beliefs”), as the Fox reality singing competition deployed “Harry Potter Night” for the fifth installment of its ongoing 10th season.

Framed by a performance from former Cheetah Girl (and retired animagus?) Adrienne Bailon-Houghton, tonight’s competition pitted Tiki, Husky, Hawk, and wild card entrant Sea Queen against each other, with Hawk hoping to mount a comeback after being forced into a “Smackdown” with Royal Hen (a.k.a. tennis legend Billie Jean King) during last week’s “A Celebration of Elton John.”

As always, the musical choices sort of fit the theme, with Tiki deploying a version of “Magic” by Scottish rock band Pilot—fair enough—and Husky busting out Rick James’ “Super Freak,” because… the Dursleys considered Harry a freak? (Stretcho Premise-dosus!) Hawk got things back on track with The Police’s “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic,” before Sea Queen gave a performance of The Searchers’ “Love Potion No. 9.” (Also, they did a thing where they revealed the Hogwarts Houses of the competitors, damning Husky with the faintest praise possible by naming them a Hufflepuff.)

The Reveal: Tyler Posey is Hawk | Season 10 | The Masked Singer

In the end, though, Hawk went back up on the chopping block, this time facing down Tiki for a rendition of Lady Gaga’s “Monster,” because, we guess, there are monsters in the Harry Potter universe. In the end, the mask came off, and Hawk was revealed to be former Teen Wolf star Tyler Posey. (Hilariously, the little icon they showed of him to highlight the reveal was a picture of him in the midst of tearing his shirt off from the MTV series, creating the impression that all Tyler Posey does on television is take off various pieces of clothing.)
